Full-Funnel Paid Media: From Click to Revenue

Most paid media plans optimize for the wrong end of the funnel. Here's how to build a full-funnel approach that ties spend to revenue.

A campaign that only optimizes for clicks is a campaign that loses money. Real paid media success comes from a full-funnel strategy — awareness, consideration, and conversion working together, with measurement that connects every dollar to outcomes.

Top of funnel: earn attention

Use broad audiences and high-engagement creative to introduce your brand. Don't expect immediate conversions here — measure view-through, reach, and cost per qualified impression. This is where creative does the heavy lifting.

Mid funnel: nurture intent

Retarget warm audiences with proof and education: case studies, demos, comparison content. This is where you convert curiosity into consideration. Track cost per lead and lead quality, not just volume.

Bottom funnel: close the deal

Search and retargeting capture high-intent buyers ready to act. Optimize aggressively for ROAS and CPA here, but don't starve the top of the funnel — without new entrants, the bottom runs dry within a quarter.

Treat the funnel like a system, not a sequence. Every stage feeds the next.

Attribution closes the loop

Last-click attribution flatters bottom-funnel spend and undervalues everything else. Use multi-touch or data-driven attribution to see how top-of-funnel activity enables later conversions, then reallocate budget toward what actually drives revenue.
